27 days till Patriots season opener: Every player to wear No. 27 for New England image

The New England Patriots will open their 2024 campaign against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, September 8 at 1:00 p.m. ET, which is now 27 days away.

Until the opening kickoff of the season for the Patriots, we'll be counting down each day by looking back at those who have worn each specific jersey number.

Since 1960, 24 players have worn No. 27 in New England, and with 27 days until their first game of the year, here's a look at everyone who's worn the number for the team:

DB Marcellas Dial Jr.: Present

  • Selected by New England in the sixth round of the 2024 draft
  • Expected to compete for a depth/practice squad spot

DB Myles Bryant: 2022-23

  • Appeared in 55 games for New England over four seasons, recording 200 tackles (nine for a loss), 17 passes defensed, four interceptions, three quarterback hits, three forced fumbles, two sacks and a fumble recovery

DB J.C. Jackson: 2018-21

  • Appeared in 70 games for New England over five seasons, recording 158 tackles (four for a loss), 59 passes defensed, 25 interceptions, three fumble recoveries, one quarterback hit and a forced fumble
  • Made a Pro Bowl and one a Super Bowl with the Patriots
  • Also played for the Los Angeles Chargers

RB D.J. Foster: 2016

  • Appeared in three games for New England in one season, rushing for 24 yards on seven attempts and catching one pass for two yards
