Until the opening kickoff of the season for the Patriots, we'll be counting down each day by looking back at those who have worn each specific jersey number.
Since 1960, six players have worn No. 18 in New England, and with 18 days until their first game of the year, here's a look at everyone who's worn the number for the team:
WR Matthew Slater: 2008-23
- Appeared in 239 games for New England over 16 seasons, recording 191 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and caught one pass for 46 yards
- Won three Super Bowls, made five First-team All-Pros, three Second-team All-Pros and 10 Pro Bowls with the Patriots
- Currently working as special assistant to the head coach
WR Donte' Stallworth: 2007
- Appeared in 17 games for New England over two seasons, catching 47 passes for 760 yards and four touchdowns
- Also played for the New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington
P Todd Sauerbrun: 2006
- Appeared in two games for New England in one season, averaging 40.8 yards per punt
- Also played for the Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers (three Pro Bowls, two All-Pros), Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs
WR Andre' Davis: 2005
- Appeared in nine games for New England in one season, catching nine passes for 190 yards and a touchdown
- Also played for the Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills
WR Anthony Ladd: 1998
- Appeared in three games for New England in one season
WR Randy Vataha: 1971-76
- Appeared in 80 games for New England over six seasons, catching 178 passes for 3,055 yards and 23 touchdowns
- Also played for the Green Bay Packers
