13 days till Patriots season opener: Every player to wear No. 13 for New England image

The New England Patriots will open their 2024 campaign against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, September 8 at 1:00 p.m. ET, which is now 13 days away.

Until the opening kickoff of the season for the Patriots, we'll be counting down each day by looking back at those who have worn each specific jersey number.

Since 1960, eight players have worn No. 13 in New England, and with 13 days until their first game of the year, here's a look at everyone who's worn the number for the team:

K Joey Slye: Present

  • Signed with New England this offseason
  • Competing for the kicker role
  • Also played for the Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders, Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers

CB Jack Jones: 2022-23

  • Appeared in 18 games for New England over two seasons, recording 30 tackles (three for a loss), seven passes defensed, two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and a quarterback hit
  • Also played for the Las Vegas Raiders

WR Phillip Dorsett: 2017-19

  • Appeared in 45 games for New England over three seasons, catching 73 passes for 881 yards and eight touchdowns
  • Won a Super Bowl with the Patriots
  • Also played for the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks

WR Joey Galloway: 2009

  • Appeared in three games for New England in one season, catching seven passes for 67 yards
  • Also played for the Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys and Washington

WR Bam Childress: 2005-06

  • Appeared in three games for New England over two seasons, catching five passes for 39 yards

P Ken Walter: 2001-03

  • Appeared in 46 games for New England over four seasons, averaging 38.6 yards per punt
  • Won two Super Bowls with the Patriots
  • Also played for the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks

QB Tom Hodson: 1990-92

  • Appeared in 32 games for New England over three seasons, completing 54.3% of his passes for 1,809 yards, seven touchdowns and 11 interceptions
  • Also played for the New Orleans Saints

WR Alfred Sykes: 1971

  • Appeared in four games for New England in one season, catching one pass for 15 yards

RB R.C. Gamble: 1968-69

  • Appeared in 27 games for Boston over two seasons, rushing for 346 yards and a touchdown and catching 18 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown
