The New England Patriots lost their first preseason game under head coach Jerod Mayo earlier in the week to the Philadelphia Eagles at Gillette Stadium.
While the Patriots had a confusing plan for their quarterbacks in the first game, the second saw starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett and eventual starting quarterback Drake Maye both get more opportunities, as they prepare for the start of the regular season.
Maye played the most of any quarterback in the game, playing the entire second and third quarters before being relieved by Joe Milton III. He may not have had the best night statistically, completing an abysmal 54.5% of his passes for just 47 yards. However, there were some things to like about his performance.
Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky, who now works as an analyst for ESPN, took to social media to break down two of his favorite plays from Maye's second game.

Orlovsky also posted a couple of plays that Maye will have to watch back and learn from.

As any young quarterback, Maye still has a lot to work on, but this game was a good step in the progression.
