The New England Patriots hosted the Philadelphia Eagles for their second preseason game of the year at Gillette Stadium on Thursday, and after Jacoby Brissett started the game, Drake Maye entered in the second quarter.
After Maye set up Joey Slye for a successful 51-yard field goal on his first drive to tie the game at three points apiece, Maye brought the offense down the field in his second drive, which ended in a four-yard touchdown run for the rookie quarterback.

Maye took the zone read to the right, beating his man to the end zone, which is something that only Cam Newton was able to do consistently in New England in recent memory.
With this team lacking talent at their skill positions, Maye's athleticism could be extremely helpful, especially in the red zone when he does take over as the team's starting quarterback.
