Being that we're in the dead part of the offseason ahead of training camp, talking heads have had more time than ever to speculate about Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams eventually joining the New York Jets.
And that endless speculation has led Adams' agents to address the situation, saying that any talk of the star receiver being traded to the Jets to reunite with former teammate and quarterback Aaron Rodgers is "baseless, unfounded speculation."
But Adams himself has also addressed the speculation on multiple occasions, and he did so once again recently during an appearance on Shannon Sharpe's podcast "Club Shay Shay".
"I'm actively on the Raiders," Adams said. "What do I look like sitting here talking to other people about being on another team? And that's how I still feel about it right now. I'm locked in with the Raiders, and I really feel good about this team, and as far as I know they feel good about me. If that ever changes, if that got to a point where they weren't feeling the same way, I ain't done playing, so obviously we would figure out whatever we needed to figure out."
Adams did say, however, that if he was to reunite with anyone should his time in Las Vegas come to an end, it would be Rodgers.
"Well, I'll answer it like this: If I'm gonna be reunited with anybody, it would be Aaron," Adams said to Sharpe before reiterating he's not seeking to be traded.
Adams is a key piece on a Raiders team that has playoff aspirations in 2024 and there is no way Las Vegas will entertain trading him before figuring out if those aspirations can become a reality.
Is there a chance the Raiders stink ahead of the 2024 trade deadline and then move Adams? Sure, anything is possible.
But Las Vegas has a good enough roster to avoid that scenario. Knowing that, we fully expect Adams to remain with the Raiders all season long.
