The Indianapolis Colts signed free-agent safety Ronnie Harrison Jr. and cornerback Kelvin Joseph to the practice squad and released edge rusher Titus Leo, the team announced Wednesday.
Following the news that cornerback JuJu Brents suffered a potentially season-ending knee injury in Week 1, the Colts added Chris Lammons to the active roster from the practice squad.
Needing to make room for one of the defenders coming in, the Colts parted ways with Leo, a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Leo missed his entire rookie season due to a knee injury, spending the whole campaign on the Reserve/Injured list. He failed to make the 53-man roster during this preseason but was brought back to the practice squad.
Harrison has been with the Colts since last season. He initially transitioned to linebacker during the 2023 season after Shaquille Leonard's midseason release.
However, he reverted back to safety throughout training camp and the preseason this year before failing to make the roster during cuts.
Joseph, a former second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, spent his first two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys before bouncing around to the Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs.
In 31 career games (three starts), Joseph has four passes defensed, 39 tackles (33 solo) and one tackle for loss.
