The last time we checked in on Chicago Bears No. 1 overall pick and quarterback Caleb Williams at an open practice of organized team activities last week, reviews from beat writers on the ground were not good for the rookie signal-caller.
However, he flipped the script on Friday, with Williams going 13-of-15 during the 7-on-7 period against the first-team defense, according to Adam Jahns of The Athletic, who noted that the USC product "threw darts all over the field, including a (touchdown) to (wide receiver) DJ Moore."
One of the incompletions Williams threw resulted in a defensive pass interference, Jahns added. In the situational drill, Williams and the offense were victorious, with that portion of practice ending with the unit coming away with a lead following a field goal from kicker Cairo Santos.
Caleb Williams today at Bears OTAs: he went 13-for-15 in 7-on-7s vs. 1st defense. One incompletion resulted in DPI. He threw darts all over the field, including a TD to DJ Moore. Williams/offense also won the situational drill, ending with Cairo Santos' FG and the lead.

This is a far cry from what we saw last week, when Williams completed just three passes in the 7-on-7 period and had a lot of incompletions and multiple near interceptions.
This is yet another shining example of why nobody should ever go crazy over just one bad practice, especially when it comes to a rookie quarterback — and that goes both ways.

As we said last time, the important thing is Williams learns from his mistakes and continues to show flashes. He clearly did that and then some on Friday.
