New York Giants running back Devin Singletary is dealing with a groin injury ahead of the Week 5 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Though Singletary played his typical allotment of snaps during the Week 4 loss against the Dallas Cowboys, he came out of the game with a groin injury.
After not practicing all week, Singletary is now trending in the wrong direction to play on Sunday against the Seahawks.
Devin Singletary injury update
On the final injury report from the team Friday, Singletary was listed as "doubtful" to play against the Seahawks.
That means there is an extremely slim chance he will make the West Coast trip, but the Giants are holding out hope that potentially an extra day of rest will give him a chance to play.
With the expectation that Singletary will be out for the game against the Seahawks, it's likely the Giants will turn to rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr. to handle the bulk of the work. Meanwhile, Eric Gray and possibly undrafted rookie Dante Miller will mix in as well.
Singletary has 56 carries for 221 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns along with 10 receptions for 72 yards through the team's first four games.
We'll see if his status changes at all on Saturday when the Giants make their elevations from the practice squad, but it's unlikely Singletary suits up for the Week 5 matchup.
