The New England Patriots will take on the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium in Week 5 for their first of two meetings this season.
New England made a number of roster moves ahead of the game, including signing defensive lineman Jaquelin Roy to their active roster.
Roy, 23, played three seasons at LSU from 2020-22 before the Minnesota Vikings selected him in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL draft. As a rookie, he appeared in 12 games, recording eight tackles and a quarterback hit while playing 96 defensive snaps and 59 on special teams.
Minnesota waived Roy during this year's roster cuts, and New England signed him to their practice squad early last month.
The Patriots' interior defense has missed Christian Barmore significantly through the first four weeks of the season, and Roy could be part of the rotation on the defensive line along with Davon Godchaux, Daniel Ekuale, Jeremiah Pharms Jr. and Eric Johnson II.
