Patriots announce a series of roster moves on Tuesday image

While the big news of the New England Patriots week is the benching of quarterback Jacoby Brissett for Drake Maye, other moves are happening with the franchise.

On Tuesday, New England announced four roster moves, as they released defensive end Jamree Kromah from the 53-man roster and guard Jerome Carvin and wide receiver Matt Landers from the practice squad and signed center Sincere Haynesworth to the practice squad.

New England originally signed Kromah off of the Chicago Bears practice squad about three weeks ago. He didn't appear in any games for the Patriots, as he was inactive every week.

Carvin, 24, started the season on the team's practice squad and was re-signed to the squad again last week. He didn't play in any games for the team.

Landers was claimed off waivers from the Cleveland Browns near the end of training camp and signed with New England's practice squad after roster cuts. He was never elevated for any games.

Haynesworth, 23, was a five-year starting center at Tulane before signing with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent this year. The Saints released him during roster cuts. New England has a clear need for center depth, so he'll fight for backup center duties with Bryan Hudson.
