The New England Patriots didn't have safety Jabrill Peppers for their Sunday afternoon battle with the Miami Dolphins, as the captain was arrested on Saturday.

The arrest happened in Braintree, Massachusetts on Saturday when the police responded to a call involving an altercation between two people. Peppers will be charged with assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of a class “B” substance (believed to be cocaine).

As WCVB obtained court documents from the incident, new details from the arrest have emerged.

According to those documents, Peppers is accused of hitting his girlfriend and choking her at least six times. His girlfriend was quoted in the documents saying, “My boyfriend put his hand on my neck and smashed my head against the wall, then he pushed me down the stairs.”

On their way out of Quincy District Court Monday morning, Peppers remained silent, but his lawyer said they have video and other evidence that "completely contradicts" the victim's story He said he expects that his client will be fully exonerated.
