After a rough 3+ quarters to start the Thursday night matchup against the New York Jets, the New England Patriots put starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett on the bench and placed rookie Drake Maye in the game.

With a horrendous offensive line playing in front of him, Brissett completed 12 of his 18 passes for just 98 yards while taking five sacks.

This isn't exactly the ideal situation for the third overall pick to see his first playing time in an NFL regular season, but with the Patriots down three scores with around five minutes to go in the game, they might as well let the rookie run the clock.

New England has a mini bye week coming up after this Thursday night game, so it will be interesting to see if they keep him in going forward.
