Jim Harbaugh refuses to discuss Rashawn Slater's potential injury image

The Los Angeles Chargers were without their franchise left tackle at Saturday's training camp practice and the hope will have to be that it won't be much more than that.

When asked about Slater's status, head coach Jim Harbaugh would not elaborate on the issue stating that he is being held out due to an "abundance of caution". Let's hope so.

That sounds like the Harbaugh football fans have become accustomed to.

Rashawn Slater injury status is something to keep tabs on

The Chargers know what they have in Slater. He's the starting left tackle and there is no competition for that job. So, it's quite possible that the team just doesn't want to push him when there is no need to.

However, it is also troubling not to see him out there. It's early in camp and with the offensive line being the most important part of Harbaugh's teams, you want to see the group be able to work together as much as possible.

If there is one player the Chargers can least afford to have injured not named Justin Herbert, it's Slater.
