The Las Vegas Raiders struck first during their Week 5 game against the Denver Broncos, and rookie tight end Brock Bowers played a huge part in the score.
Bowers had been quiet the past few weeks, totaling just 60 yards. But he nearly topped that mark on just one play on Sunday when he went up for a catch over the middle of the field, came down with it, and then turned it up field to the house.
The play came in the first quarter and on just the fourth play of the game. When it was all said and done, Bowers had his first career touchdown catch, which went for 57 yards, marking the longest play the Raiders have notched this season.

Bowers showed the elite athleticism that made him such a highly-touted prospect.
According to Next Gen Stats, Bowers hit a top speed of 19.58 miles per hour, the second-fastest for any tight end this season. Adding to that, the 31 yards after the catch over expected on the play was the most by a tight end on a play in 2024.

Bowers passed Raymond Chester for the most receiving yards by a Raiders tight end through their first five games.
