Indianapolis Colts right guard Will Fries was carted off with a scary injury during the Week 5 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Late in the third quarter of Sunday's game, Fries was blocking on a Trey Sermon run. He got caught awkwardly with a defender on his ankle and was pushed backward as his ankle was trapped.
Fries went down in immediate pain and was surrounded by his teammates as the training staff brought the air cast out for him to be carted off the field.
Will Fries injury update
To no surprise, the Colts immediately ruled Fries out with a leg injury just minutes after he was carted off.
Fries earned the starting right guard role last year and has been one of the more underrated pieces of a strong offensive line.
He was having another strong season entering the Week 5 matchup. According to Pro Football Focus, Fries has allowed one sack, one quarterback hit and five total pressures on 268 pass-blocking snaps.
With Fries out, the Colts put undrafted rookie free agent Dalton Tucker at right guard.
Considering Fries is a free agent after the season, this injury could have a massive hand in his next contract.
