The Indianapolis Colts entered the season with a strong defensive line, but injuries have ravaged the position just one month into the 2024 campaign.
Looking at each team's biggest weaknesses and potential solutions, Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report believes the Colts should sign seven-year defensive end Randy Gregory.
"Laiatu Latu is emerging, but it would be good for the Colts to add at least one more defensive lineman to their roster. Randy Gregory is one of the most compelling players on the free-agent market. He played 16 games last season with stints in Denver and San Francisco but has yet to play a game this season," Ballentine wrote.
The unsigned free agent last played in 2023 for the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers, where he compiled three and a half sacks, six tackles for loss, and 10 quarterback hits in 16 games.
The 31-year old has had an up and down NFL career, but at his peak in 2018 he earned six sacks, seven tackles for loss and 17 quarterback hits for the Dallas Cowboys.
With Indianapolis constantly dealing with injuries to the defensive line, such as Kwity Paye and DeForest Buckner, Gregory could be a solid rotational piece for a minimum contract.
