Indianapolis Colts schedule 2024: 4 games that could be in prime time image

The 2024 NFL schedule for the Indianapolis Colts is expected to be released this week, which means we'll get an idea of what the path to a potential playoff berth looks like.

The Colts haven't made the playoffs since 2020 when Philip Rivers was leading the charge. Being a team in a smaller market, the Colts also haven't had as many prime-time games as others in recent seasons.

However, there is some optimism surrounding the team's chance to be competitive in 2024, especially with a young nucleus being led by Anthony Richardson.

Here's a quick look at four games on the team's schedule that could be in prime time:

Colts' potential prime-time games

1. Buffalo Bills (home)

Hosting Josh Allen and the Bills will be a big test for the Colts defense. Anytime there's a quarterback matchup that has the chance to turn into a barnburner, the odds of it being in prime time increase. Watching Allen and Richardson go toe-to-toe could provide plenty of fireworks depending on when the game is scheduled.

2. Miami Dolphins (home)

The high-flying Dolphins should have plenty of prime-time games this season considering their explosive offense being led by Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Tua Tagovailoa. Both teams should be in the running for potential wild-card spots so there's a slight chance this game is in prime time.

3. Detroit Lions (home)

Few teams have enjoyed a rise to prominence like the Lions have under Dan Campbell during the last few seasons. They are now considered a powerhouse in the NFC and will be one of the Colts' toughest games on the schedule.

4. Houston Texans (away)

There were plenty of fireworks during the regular-season finale in 2023 between the Texans and Colts—a matchup that determined a playoff spot for the winner. If this game is in Week 18, there's a good chance it will be flexed into prime time depending on how the regular season goes for each squad.
