The Indianapolis Colts made a statement Monday following the 37-34 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5.

As the team announced starting right guard Will Fries was placed on the Reserve/Injured list with a season-ending injury, the Colts also announced a different move.

Cornerback Dallis Flowers was waived without a corresponding move, likely stemming from his rough outing in the Week 5 loss down in Duval.

Most notably, Flowers was responsible for the broken coverage that led to an easy 85-yard touchdown to Jaguars rookie Brian Thomas Jr. in the second quarter.

Flowers only played 15 total snaps during the loss to the Jaguars, but he allowed two receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown along with a perfect 158.3 passer rating, according to Pro Football Focus.

The Colts are struggling with depth at the cornerback position considering the injuries to Kenny Moore II (hip) and JuJu Brents (knee).

Maybe a corresponding move is coming later to fill his roster spot, but the Colts could have waited to announce the move given that two roster spots are now open with Fries hitting IR.
