There was an intense amount of movement across the National Football League on Tuesday.
Teams had to trim down rosters to 53 people and this unsurprisingly led to plenty of shocking moves. One that stood out was the fact that the Denver Broncos cut receiver Tim Patrick.
Franchises had to make plenty of tough decisions and unfortunately, Patrick was on the receiving end of one. While this is the case, he likely won't remain available for long after getting cut by the Broncos on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
"Broncos released wide receivers Tim Patrick, Lil'Jordan Humphrey, and David Sills, running back Samaje Perine, fullback Michael Burton, center Sam Mustipher, guard Calvin Throckmorton, and inside linebacker Jonas Griffith," Schefter said.
He is a talented receiver who has had over 730 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons to go along with at least five touchdowns in each season. He's someone that a wide receiver-needy team will give a chance in the near future.
Patrick is someone the Green Bay Packers should consider giving an opportunity to. The Packers have some intriguing, young weapons but it couldn't hurt to add another capable receiver into the mix.
It has been said at different points throughout the summer that the Packers were looking for receiving help and Patrick could be a cheap option who immediately could make an impact. Why not take a chance on him?
