NFL analyst shows Denver Broncos no respect in Week 1 prediction

NFL analyst shows Denver Broncos no respect in Week 1 prediction image

The Denver Broncos are a team that most feel, at least within the confines of Broncos Country, is headed in the right direction.

The Broncos seem to have found their franchise quarterback in Bo Nix. The team had a positive preseason and though some tend to easily dismiss that, there were some encouraging signs.

Those signs were not enough for CBS analyst Pete Prisco. In making his Week 1 picks, he chose the Seattle Seahawks to beat the Broncos by nearly two touchdowns. Here is what he had to say in his summary of the game:

Bo Nix makes his first start at quarterback for the Broncos in arguably the toughest place to play. It will be loud. This will be the debut for new Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald, who throws a ton of looks at quarterbacks from the defensive side. That could be an issue for Nix. Look for Seattle to win it big.

Not only do the Seahawks win by 13 points, but they put 30 on the Broncos? This is a harsh prediction. Prisco does make a good point about playing in Seattle, it is one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL. Sure, it could cause issues for Nix, but that again takes away from Nix's biggest strength coming into the NFL... his extensive college experience.

Nix has played in loud stadiums, he has gone into hostile environments. He's a rookie, but the Seahawks have a rookie head coach who could be exploited just as easily by a veteran like Sean Payton.

As of this writing, the Broncos are six-point underdogs, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. However, that line has moved a little as the Seahawks opened as a seven-point favorite. Personally, I'd take the Broncos to cover. Picking the Seahawks to win by 13 sticks with the trend that the national media thinks this Broncos team is still terrible.

Prisco may find himself eating his words.
