Kareem Jackson is the NFL safety version of the cat with nine lives. On Tuesday, he agreed to a new deal with the Buffalo Bills. At 36 years old, he will have a chance at playing in the NFL for a 15th season.
Kareem Jackson, a first-round pick of the Houston Texans in 2010, has spent the past five seasons with the Denver Broncos. Though his time with the team didn't end on the best of terms, Jackson was a solid player for the team and that is why he continued to be brought back on one-year deals.
He was suspended two different times last season for illegal hits in games, forcing the Broncos to turn to P.J. Locke and Delarrin Turner-Yell for lengths of time. The team finally chose to release him in late December and he was then claimed off waivers by his original team, the Texans.
Kareem Jackson joins the Buffalo Bills
Jackson will provide veteran depth for a team that has Taylor Rapp and second-round pick Cole Bishop set to start. Damar Hamlin and Mike Edwards are also on the roster, but Jackson has a chance to not only make the 53-man roster but also see a good chunk of playing time.

The Broncos are having their own issues at safety, bringing players in for tryouts while free-agent signing Brandon Jones nurses a tweaked hamstring.
Jackson will be remembered for several big plays in Denver and most of the team's fans will likely wish him well in Buffalo, even if things didn't end on the greatest note in the Mile High City.
