The Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys are two teams that might need to make a deal ahead of this year's trade deadline in order to get where they want to go, but if the Broncos are going to get anywhere near the postseason this year, they likely need to have Courtland Sutton.
Sutton has been the go-to guy for the last couple of seasons for the Broncos, making several circus catches to help his quarterbacks, such as this one against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
COURTLAND SUTTON, ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Now, you can debate whether that was a catch or not if you want to, but that's how it was ruled on the field. In his last 18 games, Sutton has 12 touchdown catches.
That could entice a team like the Dallas Cowboys — who need another receiver — to make a move. Bleacher Report's David Kenyon sees a connection between the two teams and suggests that the Cowboys should trade for Sutton as it would cost no more than a third-round pick.
It's a good thing Kenyon labels the trade ideas in this piece as "absurd", because that's exactly what this one is. While the Cowboys may need a stronger complement for CeeDee Lamb, the Broncos have never indicated that Sutton was for sale, despite constantly being talked about in trade scenarios.
Denver Broncos are not trading Courtland Sutton
There has been plenty of speculation about the Broncos trading Sutton in years past, but they chose to instead move Jerry Jeudy this offseason. That was the right move.
The Broncos need to aid in the development of Bo Nix as much as possible. Trading away their No. 1 guy (even if he's not a true No. 1 WR) would be detrimental to that process, particularly when you consider how bad the wide receiver room would look if you made this move right now.
Throw in the fact that the Broncos agreed to a new deal with Sutton this offseason that paid him more, and trading him right now would make no sense.
The Cowboys might trade for a wide receiver before the deadline, but it won't be Sutton. He won't be traded to any other team before then either.
