The Denver Broncos are sitting at 3-3 and while things could certainly be worse, there is also plenty to be concerned about. Chief among those concerns could be the fact that the team just doesn't have enough weapons for Bo Nix on offense.
While Nix is drawing plenty of criticism for the way the offense has performed, the truth is that he is just a rookie who is somewhat hamstrung by poor playcalling but he also doesn't have enough help. The Broncos roster, at least in terms of dynamic playmakers, was a concern all offseason and is now rearing its ugly head.
When the preseason concluded, the Broncos made the difficult and surprising decision to cut veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick. Though Patrick did miss the previous two seasons with injuries, he showed more than enough during the preseason to show that he was back.
But that didn't stop the Broncos from letting him go when they couldn't find a trade partner.
Tim Patrick looks great with his new team in Detroit
The Detroit Lions were the team that scooped Patrick up after the Broncos gave up on him and they are probably happy they did. Patrick began on their practice squad but has played in the team's last four games and is slowly being worked into the offense.

Patrick caught three passes for 68 yards in the Lions' throttling of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. For the season, he has eight catches for 140 yards and he has a chance to become a big piece of a contender before this season is over.
Hey @Broncos fans at least Tim Patrick is having a good day for the Lions.

The Broncos have Courtland Sutton and some intriguing rookies in Troy Franklin and Devaughn Vele. But Marvin Mims Jr. has done next to nothing this season and Lil'Jordan Humphrey being on the team instead of Patrick is just poor roster management.
Patrick put in the work to come back and help a team win. He showed he could do that and he is continuing to do that. Bad move by the Broncos and it's likely to look a lot worse before the season's end.
