The Denver Broncos have one of the best all-around cornerbacks in the NFL in Pat Surtain II and he is one of the cornerstones of the current franchise for that reason. However, there were rumors about him possibly being traded this offseason, that was crazy talk.
Many Broncos fans will argue that he is the top cornerback in the league, they will have to settle for him being slightly lower on the list of best press coverage corners, according to Doug Farrar of Touchdown Wire.
Having a corner who can get physical within the rules, throw receivers off their routes and mirror them down the field is about as important as anything in today's pass-heavy league, particularly if a team does not have an elite pass rush. That is what makes Surtain so special.
When ranking the best cornerbacks in press coverage, Farrar lists Surtain at No. 4. The tweet below sums things up perfectly:

Pat Surtain is one of NFL's top 5 press-coverage cornerbacks
The only players ranked about Surtain are Martin Emerson of the Cleveland Browns, A.J. Terrell of the Atlanta Falcons and L'Jarius Sneed, who the Tennessee Titans signed to a huge free-agent deal this offseason. Whether you agree with him being No. 1 or not, you can bet his ability to shut things down in press coverage was likely the main reason for him being so sought after.
Surtain, the team's first-round pick in 2021, has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the last two seasons. He is among the best press corners in football and is one of the league's best all-around defenders.
