The Denver Broncos have decided to hit the confirm button on a move many fans have been calling for nearly all season. Greg Dulcich, the team's former third-round pick, will be a healthy scratch in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The hope this season was that Dulcich, finally healthy, would be the kind of tight end who would stretch the field for Sean Payton's offense, but he has been anything but that.

Dulcich has just five receptions on the season and in the team's last two games, both wins, he didn't catch a single pass. In his place, the Broncos will make Lucas Krull active for the first time this season. Krull caught eight passes for 44 yards and a touchdown last season and many fans were expecting big things from him this year. He gets his first chance to contribute on Sunday.

The Broncos' full inactive list looks like this, which is about how it has looked all season aside from the tight end spot.

Greg Dulcich will have to earn his way back onto the field

The Broncos didn't choose to bench Dulcich because it's a bad matchup against the Raiders and it doesn't appear to be injury-related. Instead, this is just a direct result of ineffectiveness.

Dulcich will have to show that he is deserving of being back in the lineup in practices, because he chance to do so in games has been taken away, at least for now. The Broncos will move forward with Krull, Adam Trautman and Nate Adkins as their tight ends. Donald Parham Jr. is also on the team's practice squad and he could be an option at some point this season as well.

Things don't look great for Dulcich's future in Denver.
