The Denver Broncos wasted no time in selecting Bo Nix with their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and now they have wasted no time in signing him to his rookie contract. Details of the contract are reportedly $18.6 million over four years.

Earlier in the week, we found out that Nix will wear No. 10 in the NFL, the same jersey number he wore at two schools in college. Nix is the first quarterback to be drafted in the first round by the Broncos since Paxton Lynch in 2016.

That spring, the Broncos signed Lynch to a four-year, $9.4 million deal, so the price has basically doubled since then. Hopefully, the Broncos get about 100 times more from Nix than they got from Lynch.

Nix is in line to be the Broncos' Week 1 starter which would make him the first rookie to open the season at quarterback for the team since John Elway in 1983 and just the second in team history. He'll have to fend off Zach Wilson and Jarrett Stidham to make that a reality.
