Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton is still looking for the team to give him a marginal raise in pay. After the historic extension that the Minnesota Vikings gave star receiver Justin Jefferson on Monday, the door may be open for that to happen.
Sutton has not been available for OTAs with his team this offseason, cutting into precious time when he could be working with first-round pick Bo Nix. With mandatory minicamp looming (June 11-13), the Broncos may want to consider getting a new deal done with Sutton.
The Broncos are not in the best place to be handing out money while they sit on the dead cap dollars created by the horrible Russell Wilson deal. But Sutton is the team's No. 1 wide receiver and he's not looking for anything near what Jefferson just got.
Projecting a new contract for Courtland Sutton
Following Jefferson's new deal, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report put together a list of predictions concentrating on how new contracts could look for eight other wide receivers in the league looking for new deals, with Sutton being one of those.

While the contracts will be wildly different… does presumed @Broncos holdout Courtland Sutton deserve a new deal after last season? #BroncosCountry@DMacSportsCO @Tyler_Polumbus @ballhog44 @AltitudeTV pic.twitter.com/VN3G14mIPa
Knox projects Sutton, who is under contract through the 2025 season, to get a two-year deal worth $35 million. Sutton is scheduled to earn $13.6 million this coming season and $14 million next year. This deal would give him an average of $17.5 million, the kind of pay increase he is looking for.
If a deal between the two sides is going to come, the Broncos should do it soon. The team doesn't want to open mandatory OTAs with him still choosing to stay away from the team.
