There is a lot on the line for the Dallas Cowboys in 2024. If the franchise is going to live up to expectations, it may see key contributions coming from some of the team's youngest players.
Cowboys Senior Vice President of Media and Content, Derek Eagleton, highlighted this in a major way on Wednesday.
The 2024 Cowboys could start more rookies in Week 1 than any other Dallas team in modern history. Though the current depth chart is unofficial, four rookies are currently listed as potential starters.
Here are the four rookies who are currently projected to start on Sunday when the Cowboys take on the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland:
- Tyler Guyton, left tackle
- Cooper Beebe, center
- Marist Liufau, middle linebacker
- Caelen Carson, cornerback
Dallas had to revamp its offensive line in a major way after last season. It lost key starters to free agency and had to nail the draft to make up the difference. The early returns are promising there.
The Cowboys have been looking for a man to lead their linebackers. Veteran Eric Kendricks was brought in during free agency, but at this time it appears Liufau has the inside track to become that guy.
Carson is a guy who has been thrust into the spotlight due to injury this summer. Starting cornerback DaRon Bland is still out for a few weeks due to a knee injury, forcing Carson into the starting lineup.
These four rookies have a huge job in front of them. How they perform will have a lot to do with whether the Cowboys find success early in 2024.
