The Chicago Bears certainly haven't been at full strength over the last few weeks.
Chicago entered the 2024 season with very high hopes. Things haven't gone the Bears' way so far, and the team currently is in last place in the NFC North with a 1-2 record. Chicago's offense is expected to take a major step forward this season, but it has been missing an important piece since Week 1.
Star receiver Keenan Allen only has appeared in one game so far this season. He played Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans and had four receptions for 29 yards. He has been dealing with a heel injury but will return to practice on Wednesday, according to Pro Football Talk's Myles Simmons.
"Bears veteran receiver Keenan Allen is getting closer to returning to play," Simmons said. "Allen is set to return to practice on Wednesday after missing the last two weeks with a heel injury.
"Allen caught four passes for 29 yards in the season-opening victory over Tennessee. Allen will likely be limited in his return to the field, but Chicago’s first injury report of the week will come out later on Wednesday afternoon."
Even if Allen isn't able to return to action in Week 4, the fact that he is taking this positive step forward is a sign that he should be back on the field for game action in the near future. The Bears certainly will need him, too, if they want to get back in the win column.
