After months of speculation, former Chicago Bears defensive end Yannick Ngakoue finally has found a new home.
He spent the 2023 season with Chicago and had four sacks in 13 games played. He entered free agency at the end of the season and has been looking for a new home ever since. There were plenty of rumors and even some speculation that he could return to Chicago to help out on the edge.
That isn't going to be the case, though, as he has found a new opportunity. He reportedly signed with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
"More pass-rush help on the way: Ravens are bringing back (defensive end) Yannick Ngakoue, who last played in Baltimore in 2020, per source," Schefter said. "The 29-year-old Ngakoue has 69 career NFL sacks."
Ngakoue spent part of the 2020 season with the Ravens. He started three games and, had three sacks, and had 11 total tackles. Baltimore is among the top contenders in the AFC, and landing Ngakoue gives them another depth option with high upside.
The 29-year-old is a one-time Pro Bowler and has had a solid career since being selected in the third round of the 2016 National Football League Draft. Chicago could've used him this season, but now he will get another opportunity to show what he can do with the Ravens. The Bears could use a boost still, but Ngakoue now is off the market so the franchise will have to look elsewhere.
