The Buffalo Bills were defeated handedly by the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 35-10 on Sunday night. And in the midst of the loss, they also lost one of their starters on defense.
Safety Taylor Rapp is dealing with a concussion, which would leave the team shorthanded if he is unable to compete on Sunday when Buffalo travels to Houston to take on the Texans. Head coach Sean McDermott was asked about the possibility of a reunion with Micah Hyde, and he seems very open to the idea.
"You know how we feel about Micah," McDermott said.
Hyde was signed by the Bills in 2017 after spending 2013-16 with the Green Bay Packers. He earned a Pro Bowl nod in his first season with the Bills and, alongside Jordan Poyer, made up half of arguably the best safety tandem in the NFL over the last decade. Hyde dealt with a neck injury over his last couple seasons with the Bills, but has said he wants to play in 2024, and wants to do so in Buffalo.
"I'm enjoying my time with the family," Hyde said back in May. And if there's a case where I can get back on the football field, I would love to do it. Especially in this uniform, in front of these fans. It would mean the world to me and my family to be able to do that."
Should the Bills decide to give Hyde a call, Bills fans and Hyde himself would welcome the reunion.
