The Buffalo Bills defense has gotten a lot of attention for the stars that they have on the shelf. Linebacker Matt Milano suffered a bicep injury ahead of the preseason, and linebacker Terrel Bernard suffered a pectoral injury in Buffalo's Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins. Cornerback Taron Johnson was also lost in Week 1 with a forearm injury, though he has returned to practice.
In the absence of their stars, though, another star has emerged. Cornerback Christian Benford has been tremendous this season. Through four games, the former sixth-round pick has allowed just five catches for 26 yards in four games, including two games in which he has allowed zero receptions. On top of that, he's allowed a passer rating of just 35.7 and has an interception.
Benford's tremendous play has earned him a spot on the PFF first quarter All-Pro team.
The rest of the secondary for PFF's team is New York Jets cornerback D.J. Reed, Green Bay Packers safety Xavier McKinney, Pittsburgh Steelers safety DeShon Elliott, and Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey.
