The Baltimore Ravens could always use more weapons for Lamar Jackson.
In a new NFL mock draft from Sports Illustrated's Cory Kinnan, the Ravens use the 12th overall pick to do just that.
Kinnan has the Ravens drafting speedy Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond, writing that the Ravens "desperately" need receiver help.
Kinnan writes:
"A big riser thus far in the early season has been Texas receiver and Alabama transfer Isaiah Bond. He is as quick as anyone in the nation laterally, then has the speed to kill over the top as well. For the Ravens, a team that desperately needs help in their wide receiver room, this is a breath of fresh air. Lamar Jackson gets a lethal weapon to play with."
Bond, who transferred from Alabama last offseason, currently has 15 catches for 290 yards and 3 touchdowns in four games with the Longhorns. Bond is averaging 19.3 yards per reception.
Of course, with Jackson as their quarterback, the Ravens have used three first-round picks on wide receivers — it is not exactly a position they have ignored. They look to have found a star in Zay Flowers, who they selected 22nd overall in 2023.
However, the Ravens are missing the type of deep threat that Bond represents. The Ravens used a fourth-round pick on Devontez Walker, the type of deep downfield weapon they've lacked. Walker, however, has been injured and failed to impress on the field so far.
Ultimately, the Ravens hope to improve upon their record this season and draft toward the end of the first round. If they do, their draft targets could look much different.
