The Baltimore Ravens could always use more weapons on offense, even if scoring hasn't been a problem this season.
Through the five games, the 3-2 Ravens lead the NFL in yards per game and rank second in total points.
So far, they've relied heavily on Derrick Henry to run over opponents and he's come through. The Ravens' Week 5 game was just the second time this season that they've leaned on Lamar Jackson in the passing game, and he delivered an excellent performance, throwing for 346 yards and 4 touchdowns.
However, the Ravens may still want to add another weapon in the passing game. They have largely spread the ball around this season, but if any of their top pass-catchers were to get injured, Baltimore would be thin.
Thus, Bleacher Report's "Scouting Department" suggests the Ravens trade for New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton.
"Baltimore has one of the most unique situations thanks to Lamar Jackson, so they don't have to have the same kind of wide receiver depth that other teams have.
"That being said, it would be good for the Ravens to add one more dynamic weapon in the passing game. Darius Slayton is an underrated burner whose deep speed would give the Ravens a dangerous option in their vertical play-action game."
So far this season Slayton has 18 catches for 244 yards and 1 touchdown. He stepped up big time for the Giants in Week 5, going for 122 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Seattle Seahawks while Malik Nabers was out with a concussion.
While Slayton never reached an 800-yard season in his career, he also has not benefitted from strong QB play, catching passes from Daniel Jones, Tyrod Taylor, Tommy DeVito, Colt McCoy, and four games with Eli Manning in his final season.
However, Slayton is a good route-runner and has been consistent during his career. Slayton would step in and immediately become the No. 2 in the Ravens pass game.
With rumors swirling about the Ravens and Davante Adams, it would very Ravens to go out and get a quieter, cheaper receiver who could have a big impact on the team.
