The idea of Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams playing with Lamar Jackson continues to tantalize the NFL world.
Adams has requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders, and several reports have indicated that a deal could come soon.
While plenty of teams are interested in Adams, he continues to be linked to the Baltimore Ravens.
The Big Lead's Max Weisman named the Ravens as one of five potential landing spots for Adams, writing:
"If the offense, one of the best in the league, is performing at such a high level why would they trade for Davante Adams? Other than preventing rival AFC teams from acquiring an offensive weapon, adding Adams to a wide receiving core of Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman would give quarterback Lamar Jackson the best wide receiver core he's had."
Weisman writes that Adams would give the Ravens the firepower to take down the Kansas City Chiefs.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport had previously reported that the Ravens were one of several teams that either reached out to the Raiders about Adams or would be a team that Adams would like to join.
Adams helped fuel speculation about going to Baltimore when he posted a picture of Edgar Allen Poe on Instagram. It's unclear why Adams posted the picture.
Still, it's worth wondering whether the Ravens would be interested in Adams. They would need to restructure his contract or create cap space elsewhere to trade for him. While Adams is undeniably a top receiver, it is unlike the Ravens to use assets to add expensive, aging veterans, particularly when their offense is already humming.
Nonetheless, adding a player of Adams' skill to Baltimore could reshape the AFC landscape. It's a good fit on paper, and the two sides will likely continue to be linked until a deal happens.
