After thinking that a ruling would be done before the draft, the tampering investigations for the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles will likely come to its conclusion this week, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

In Schefter's report, he claims that the Falcons' punishment will be "more severe" due to their alleged tampering being "more significant."

It was thought by fans that the surprise selection of Michael Penix, Jr. was due to the possible results of this investigation, especially when given recent results of other tampering investigations. Other "severe" tampering investigations include:

  • Miami Dolphins losing their 2023 first-round pick and 2024 third-round pick for tampering with quarterback Tom Brady and Sean Peyton
  • Kansas City Chiefs losing their 2016 third-round pick and a 2017 sixth-round pick for their tampering with former Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin. There was also around $260,000 fined to head coach Andy Reid and general manager John Dorsey.
