There was a steep dropoff for TCU after winning the Big 12 Conference regular-season title and advancing to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game following the 2022 season. So steep that the Horned Frogs didn’t even make a bowl game in 2023, going 5-7 overall and 3-6 in Big 12 play.
CBS Sports projected the entire College Football Playoff and every bowl game and put TCU back into the postseason with a Liberty Bowl matchup against Auburn on Dec. 27 in Memphis.
The CBS projections had 10 of 16 teams from the Big 12 making the postseason, including two CFP teams —No. 18 Kansas State and No. 12 Utah.
TCU has one of the toughest openers in the Big 12, opening the season at Stanford on Friday, Aug. 30.
Just had a good conversation with Quentin Johnston.

Johnston said that Jim Harbaugh reached out to him a couple days ago. He brought up the 2022 Fiesta Bowl in a game where he had 6 catches for 163 yards and a TD. Harbaugh joked with him, saying he “wasn’t too happy about that.” pic.twitter.com/FB5rDZDYqf
