After surpassing all expectations last season by becoming the youngest number-one seed in NBA history and becoming the youngest team to win a playoff series, the Oklahoma City Thunder are entering the 2024/25 season with even more expectations and pressure.

With the additions of Alex Caruso from the Bulls and Isaiah Hartenstein from the Knicks, as well as the current roster of players improving from last season, there are a ton of media members and experts who believe the Thunder should place amongst the top of the West for the second year in a row.

ESPN senior writer Zach Lowe appeared on 'NBA on ESPN' and listed the Thunder as his "best punctuation mark for this upcoming season":

Zach Lowe went on to mention that OKC is built to win a ton of games in the regular season and will be a matchup nightmare for any opponent. However, the one thing Lowe hesitated on was a potential playoff run.

Despite making it to six games in the Western Conference Semifinals last season, experts say the Thunder are still a very inexperienced team, as Lowe mentioned the playoffs "are just a different animal for young teams".

If the Thunder are able to obtain the one seed yet again in a loaded conference, there should be no reason why they cannot make the conference finals or the finals. Many of their young stars are slowly entering the best parts of their careers, and with the new defensive additions, the sky's the limit for this Thunder squad.
