It is well known that the Oklahoma City Thunder are going to be one of the top teams in the league entering the 2024/25 season. Headed by MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with co-stars Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams, the Thunder are looking to go even farther in the playoffs this time around.

First, OKC has to compete in 82 total games, which is no easy task. In order to set themselves for the utmost success, the Thunder have to win as many games as possible, and that can't be done without the collective help of all players. With one spot left on the roster, the Thunder will look to sign someone who can help them reach their goals. Here are a few of those players that do just that:

Bismack Biyombo

Although Biyombo did not see much playing time with the Thunder last season, he became a major culture piece for the team. While adding other players would involve developing that chemistry with the rest of the guys, Biyombo is already acclimated with the team and is well-liked by all the players. Bringing back Biyombo would most likely involve him playing the same role as he did last season where he is a vocal veteran piece to help the younger guys improve and develop confidence.

Danilo Gallinari

While Galo's impact and production has decreased over the past couple of seasons, the 17-year veteran has plenty of playoff experience and can provide good outside shooting as a career 38% shooter from beyond the arch for a big man. Not only that, but Galo was also a part of the 2019/20 OKC team that surpassed expectations in the bubble. With Galo knowing SGA and the type of culture the Thunder has, Galo could be a great piece to help OKC get over the hump.

Robert Covington

At his peak, Covington was an elite defender who could also shoot the three-ball extremely well. Covington may not have the same 'motion' he once had, but he still provided meaningful minutes averaging over one steal per game over the past two seasons. Pair that with still being able to shoot well and his extensive playoff experience, and Covington could be a great addition.

Wesley Matthews

Another great career three-point shooter, Matthews is a 6'5" guard/forward who could still add some value off the Thunder bench. Shooting nearly 35% from three last season on two attempts per game, Matthews would be a helpful piece in increasing the Thunder's outside shooting. The 17-year veteran would also help tremendously in developing the young talent.

Jae Crowder

As a member of the 2020 Heat and 2021 Suns finals teams, Crowder has the most playoff experience out of the rest of the guys. Another 35% three-point shooter who can play elite defense, Crowder would be a great addition for the Thunder and be an underrated spark. Whether it is through his play style or through teaching the OKC squad, Crowder could be a vital piece in growing the team and bettering them for the future.
