The fit between the New York Yankees and star infielder Jazz Chisholm has gone as smoothly as both sides could have hoped for.

Outside of a rocky mid-season transition to third base, Chisholm has infused a jolt of energy into the Yankees lineup since being acquired just before the Major League Baseball trade deadline in July.

The 26-year-old has provided immense value hitting in the middle of the order behind the likes of Aaron Judge, Austin Wells and Giancarlo Stanton.

In compiling the 10 best additions from the trade deadline, Brian Murphy of MLB.com believes the Chisholm trade reigns supreme.

"Through July 27, the Bronx Bombers had a 116 wRC+, tied for the highest in the Majors," Murphy wrote. "But their hitters who batted outside of the Nos. 2 and 3 spots -- those have belonged almost exclusively to the MVP candidates -- compiled a 91 wRC+. This group needed another potent bat.

"Enter Chisholm, who was acquired on that date and quickly went about rewriting the Yanks' record book, hitting a franchise-best seven homers in his first 12 games with the club. Even though his tenure was interrupted for 10 days by a sprained left elbow, Chisholm has been a consistent force for New York. He has bashed nine dingers, stolen five bases, and his 1.029 OPS since debuting for the Yankees ranks eighth in MLB (min. 80 plate appearances)."

The Yankees needed more life in their lineup at the time of the trade, and it's paid off handsomely. They had to part ways with coveted catching prospect Agustin Ramirez, but the trade has been well worth it.

That's especially true considering Wells finds himself as a Rookie of the Year candidate.

With the final month of the season officially here, the Yankees will continue to lean on Chisholm to provide his typical juice as they make their push for the division crown.
