New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu is expected to return to the active roster next week, barring another setback with his foot injury.

Manager Aaron Boone told reporters earlier this week that LeMahieu will be expected to return when the Yankees begin a series on the road against the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday, May 28.

Boone also said earlier this week that LeMahieu is expected to be the regular third baseman when he returns, taking over the role from Oswaldo Cabrera and Jon Berti, who have been platooning.

LeMahieu is expected to play through the weekend at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before potentially being activated as long as things go well.
