On Sunday, the Boston Red Sox signed right-handed pitcher Brad Keller after he was designated for assignment by the Chicago White Sox.
While Keller was a free agent during the season, he likely had options of organizations to sign with, and he said he was drawn to Boston.
According to Audacy's Rob Bradford, Keller said he was interested in joining the Red Sox staff due to their "recent reputation for developing pitchers."
Boston hasn't been the best at this specific facet of the game in recent years, but new pitching coach Andrew Bailey has received a lot of credit for his work with the team's pitching staff.
A number of the Red Sox's arms are having their best years or impressive starts to their careers, including Tanner Houck, Cooper Criswell and Justin Slaten.
Boston is hoping to see improvement in Keller's game now that he's working with Bailey and company.
