The Boston Red Sox have been pretty active early in this season, making sure to bring in fresh faces to ensure they have the best roster they can.

On Sunday, MassLive's Chris Cotillo reported that the Red Sox are signing right-handed pitcher Brad Keller.

Keller, 28, was originally drafted in the eighth round of the 2013 draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He made his MLB debut with the Kansas City Royals in 2018.

After six seasons with the Royals, Keller signed a minor league deal with the Chicago White Sox this year. He appeared in five games for Chicago, posting a 4.86 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP before being designated for assignment this week.

To make room for the new addition, Boston has optioned reliever Zack Kelly to Triple-A Worcester. Kelly has been solid for the Red Sox in his 11 appearances, recording a 2.16 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP.
