The Boston Red Sox lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks today 4-0, after their offense couldn’t put anything on the board.
Kutter Crawford had an ok outing, giving up two runs in his five innings. The relievers gave up another two runs, making it 4-0. The relievers also gave up four walks in the seventh which scored the third run, and a wild pitch scored the fourth run.
The Sox offense was miserable, only getting two hits until the ninth, where Masataka Yoshida hit a double to score a run and make it 4-1 and get five hits. A lot of players were swinging at trash, leading to 13 strikeouts for the team. There were a lot of questionable calls by the home plate umpire as well, which forced a lot of bad swings.
The Red Sox will have a chance to avoid the sweep tomorrow at 1:30pm EST.
