After splitting a two-game set with the Atlanta Braves, the Boston Red Sox are taking on the Chicago White Sox for a four-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field starting on Thursday.

For the opener, Boston will send Tanner Houck to the bump while Chicago will counter with Jake Woodford.

Here's what Alex Cora's lineup will look like:

  1. Jarren Duran LF
  2. Enmanuel Valdez 2B
  3. Rob Refsnyder RF
  4. Rafael Devers 3B
  5. Tyler O’Neill DH
  6. Dominic Smith 1B
  7. Connor Wong C
  8. David Hamilton SS
  9. Ceddanne Rafaela CF

Houck has been incredible for the Red Sox this year, posting a 1.85 ERA (third-best in baseball) and 0.96 WHIP (tied for ninth-best). He's given up one earned run or less in each of his last four starts. Three White Sox have recorded hits off of him in his career - Martin Maldonado (1-for-3 with an RBI), Luis Robert Jr. (1-for-7 with an RBI) and Andrew Vaughn (1-for-2).

Woodford began his season in Triple-A Charlotte before making his debut with Chicago last week against the Toronto Blue Jays. In that game, he allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four over 4 1/3 innings.  He's only ever faced one Red Sox - Smith (1-for-2 with an RBI).
