After a day off on Thursday, the Boston Red Sox will host the Tampa Bay Rays at Fenway Park for a three-game series that begins on Friday.
For the matchup, Boston will send Nick Pivetta to the mound while Tampa Bay will counter with Taj Bradley.

Pivetta has been all right for Boston this season, posting a 4.21 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP while striking out 166 batters in 26 appearances (25 starts). He's allowed two or fewer earned runs in four of his last five starts. Eight Rays have recorded hits against him in his career - Jonathan Aranda (1-for-4), Junior Caminero (1-for-2 with a solo home run), Jonny DeLuca (1-for-2), Yandy Diaz (7-for-27 with seven walks), Brandon Lowe (4-for-18 with three home runs, five RBIs and five walks), Josh Lowe (2-for-7 with two solo home runs), Jose Siri (2-for-6 with a solo home run) and Taylor Walls (1-for-8 with three RBIs and two walks).
Bradley has been all right for Tampa Bay in his 24 starts as well, posting a 4.30 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP while striking out 147 batters. He allowed seven runs on 10 hits and one walk in two starts against Boston this season.
