The Boston Red Sox went into Sunday afternoon's matchup against the Chicago White Sox knowing that they'd be using a number of relievers with Zack Kelly being the opener.
In total, Boston ended up with eight different pitchers take the mound throughout the 10-inning affair, including lefty Cam Booser, who closed out the game.
Booser's two-strikeout scoreless inning secured the win for the Red Sox and gave the pitcher his first career save, which is a memory that the 32-year-old rookie will likely remember forever.
“It’s special, man,” Booser said (via. MassLive). “It will probably sink in a little more tomorrow, on the off-day. The most important thing is we got the ‘dub’ and split the series. The boys battled today. They battled for all 10 (innings).”
Booser has been all right for Boston this year, posting a 3.80 ERA and a 1.141 WHIP in his 23 2/3 innings of work across 20 appearances.
