The Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox faced off for the finale of their four-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field on Sunday, and Boston earned a series split with a 6-4 win in 10 innings.

Boston's defense really let the team down, as their three errors in the fourth running led to three runs (two of which were earned).

The first came as Dominic Smith missed a toss to Justin Slaten on a ball to first base. The pitcher was given the error, but it should've gone to Smith. On the very next place, David Hamilton fielded a ball and misplayed a flip from his glove. Then, catcher Reese McGuire made an error trying to catch the runner at first base.

This all led to Paul DeJong's three-run home run.

The Red Sox's offense came alive late, which is impressive considering they were missing a number of key players including Rafael Devers and Tyler O'Neill, who are both day-to-day with knee injuries.

In total, Boston scored six runs, which came from McGuire (1-for-3), Hamilton (2-for-4 with a solo home run), Jamie Westbrook (0-for-2), Rob Refsnyder (2-for-5) and Garrett Cooper (1-for-3).

The Red Sox allowed just two earned runs in the whole game with Slaten allowing one and Brennan Bernardino allowing the other. Zack Kelly, Greg Weissert, Brad Keller, Kenley Jansen and Cam Booser pitched 6 2/3 scoreless and struck out 12 of the team's 17 strikeouts.

Boston's victory brings them back to 33-33 and 19-15 on the road. They'll have a day off on Monday before taking on the Philadelphia Phillies for a three-game series at Fenway Park starting on Tuesday.
