On Tuesday night, the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays met at the Rogers Centre, and Alex Cora's team earned a 6-5 victory in extra innings.

Boston's offense was quiet early in the game, as they pushed zero runs across through the first six innings, but they tied the game 3-3 with two in the seventh on a Ceddanne Rafaela (1-for-4) two-RBI single and one in the eighth on a Masataka Yoshida (0-for-4) fielder's choice.

Then, in the 10th, they drove in three more, as Trevor Story (2-for-5), Connor Wong (0-for-1) and Vaughn Grissom (3-for-4) all drove in one each.

Brayan Bello was solid, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out four over four innings. Lucas Sims gave up one run in his lone inning.

Justin Slaten, Luis Garcia, Luis Guerrero and Chris Martin all tossed scoreless innings, leading to Zach Penrod getting the bottom of the 10th, allowing the ghost runner to score. Chase Shugart closed it out after walking in a run.

The win for Boston improves their record to 80-78 on the year, makes it four in a row, secures a series win and keeps their playoff hopes alive. The two teams will meet again on Wednesday night, as the Red Sox have a chance to sweep the series.
